Laura (Ashburn) Breece graduated from Purdue University in
1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, specializing in
Electronic Journalism. From a young age, she has had a passion
for storytelling and imagery. Through careers spanning athletics,
the arts, and education, Laura was always taking pictures. She
learned photography first from her parents, and then with her first
camera, a simple 110. Many camera upgrades later, Laura
proudly shoots Canon Digital, both in-studio and on location.
Early training under the most difficult of situations honed her
skills at available light photography. A lifelong obsession with
dance has helped her become one of the strongest arts photographers
in the area. A personal mission to teach and empower her subjects
drives her portrait work.
Continued study and training keeps Laura's her skills fresh and
contemporary, but it is her heart for the subject that makes her
different. As the mother of three grown children, she has the wits
and experience to handle whatever your shoot requires. She has
traveled widely as a military dependent and airline spouse, bringing
a capable sensitivity to on-location shoots.
Having a photographer who understands the buttons and gadgets is
great, but if they are rude, unorganized, uncomfortable leading a
group, irritable, or dull, what good is that? Laura Breece enjoys
working with large groups, whether they are senior citizens, college
athletes or preschoolers. Years of coaching, teaching, and directing
make Laura a much more useful partner on your team.
She is active in a variety of non-profit organizations, and regularly
provides work to charitable groups. Her imagery has been seen in
the Indianapolis Star, Nuvo, Indianapolis Woman, and websites
for arts organizations throughout central Indiana.
